Virtual sessions enable us to connect from anywhere in the world with a good internet connection. Currently, I use the Zoom platform for virtual sessions. Most sessions are available via zoom, and they are as effective as in-person sessions.

What are your office hours?
My office hours are flexible. I have session times available during the day, evenings, and weekends. I will work with your schedule to find a time that works!
How long is a typical session?
The length of a session depends on what we do – most sessions are typically 1 to 2 hours. Flowtrition is an optional 20-minute add-on to any in-person session.
How do I get started?

The first step is an initial phone consultation. This call is a free 30-minute session to talk about your goals, answer any questions, and see if we are a good fit to work together.

To set-up a free initial consultation, either book a time online with my calendar or call or text (940) 232-9719. Your call is important to me. If you leave me a message, I will call or text you back.

An alternative way to send a message is to either use the contact form on this website to send a message or email me directly at Maxine@MaxineLindauerhypnosis.com.

What is your cancellation policy?
Please give a minimum of 12 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment. I will provide you with the same courtesy in the interest of respecting each other’s time and commitment.
How do we work online, and what equipment do I need?

All you need is a good Internet connection with the standard microphone and camera built into your laptop, MacBook, or phone. A headset is optional, and if you have one, you will want to use it.

Tele-hypnosis works best if you can create a quiet and private place for the session. This should be a place where you can recline or lie down and be undisturbed for the whole session.

How does hypnosis work?

It’s one of the natural states of the mind. The first thing to know is that hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all experience daily. In the time between waking and sleeping or sleeping and waking, we pass through a brain state like the hypnotic state.

The mind has filters that hypnosis softens. Imagine putting a pink color lens on your camera so that you see all things differently. Because of that pink filter (or any color filter), the photographs show that difference. It can be fun to play with filters when you choose to! Yet, what if you didn’t have a choice – what if somebody randomly put their filters on your camera? Then, it’s not so much fun.

Our conscious minds already have built-in filters that often get in the way of our choices. While It’s good to have filters so that what is important stands out clearly, many of those filters have been placed there by other people, experiences, and beliefs that may no longer apply to our present lives for most of us. Hypnosis helps to give you back your choices.

Think of hypnosis as a process that gently moves the mind filters to one side for a period long enough for you to see increased light and possibility – your choices of what is essential guide the imagery and suggestions that the hypnotherapist offers into your space.

Hypnosis helps you reclaim the power of your choice. Let hypnosis be a trusted ally to support you in your journey to heal and achieve your goals and dreams.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Unequivocally, Yes. Unlike some of the old cartoons and mythologies pretend, hypnosis does not cause you to do what you don’t want to do. It’s always a choice you make. So, being hypnotized requires you to want to be hypnotized. The decision is yours to make. I will help you go into hypnosis with ease.

Remember when you were so focused on something that you lost all track of time? That was a hypnotic state.

Remember that time when you experienced deep, profound, physical relaxation? You were also in a hypnotic state.

Those are only two examples, yet there are so many more.

Any human being who is capable of waking, sleeping, and deciding for themselves is capable of going into a hypnotic state.

How does hypnosis feel?
Most people experience going into a hypnotic state as gaining a feeling of deep relaxation. You are always in a safe place and in control. You’ll never say or do anything you don’t want to say or do.
How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed is as small as one and up to three to five per goal. The number varies with the person because it depends on how many goals you have, the complexity of the goal(s), and your starting place.

Consider this question: A traveler is journeying to Denton, Texas. How long will it take?

You’re probably thinking – well, where is this traveler beginning? Are they walking? Are they driving? Are they flying? You’d need to know all that before you answer.

That said – sessions with me are more like flying than walking.

Clients begin making progress from the very first session, and each session builds upon the last. When we connect through your complimentary consultation, we will explore your goals, and I’ll email you an action plan and a recommendation for the number of sessions needed.

Is it okay to cry or express other emotions during sessions?

Of course! Clients sometimes cry and sometimes laugh. All manner of expressions occurs because we are multi-faceted individuals. And everyone is welcome here, including all of your multi-facets.

Can hypnosis make me do things I don’t want to do?

Nope – Rest assured that you safely go into hypnosis knowing that you’ll never say or do anything that you don’t already want to say or do. You are always in control and are the determiner of what suggestions you receive or ultimately act upon in our sessions.

Will you make me cluck like a chicken?

Not unless clucking like a chicken is your goal. And if it is, you can probably do that without hypnosis sessions!

Clucking like a chicken and other antics have been known to happen during stage hypnosis, which is all about entertainment.

Professional hypnosis is about (and only about) helping you reach your goal.

Wolves or Jaguars?
Both! Wolves are regal and loyal. Jaguars are graceful and sublime. They inspire me with awe. What inspires you?
Stairs or Elevator?

Both! My office in Denton is on the second floor. Some days, I enjoy the invigorating energy of traversing the stairs using only my physical prowess. Other days, I prefer the gentle lift and soft landing from an elevator ride. What’s your favorite way to go up a level?
